I'm a Princess. . .I Guess

"Mom, who will fix my hair to make it lay down?"
This was the lock of hair I found on the ground before bedtime. I had already thrown away a piece double this size!
Why? Why? Oh why must every little girl insist on being their very own hairstylist? Maggy decided today that she wanted to look like a princess. . .found a pair of scissors. . . cut three big chunks of hair down to the scalp! She now looks like she has a Mohawk and there is not a thing that can be done to make it look better. The maddening thing about it was her two big sisters sat and watched her and then came and told me :

"Maggy's cutting her hair!" -- Baylee
"What! Where are the scissors?" -- Mom
"Maggy has them!" -- Baylee
"Run, get them fast!" -- Mom as she shaking her head in disbelief, but to tired to get up and check out the damage. As I'm laying on the couch thinking well at least she didn't have ponytails today!

I combed Maggy's hair and showed her the damage in the mirror. Maggy is now walking around the house with a pillow on top of her head asking who is going to fix her hair so it will lay down again. Sorry, but honey that hair's going to stick up for the rest of the summer! Get used to it or wear a hat! (Of course the pictures don't do the haircut justice.)

Motorcycle Mania

We didn't think that the girls would be big enough or brave enough to learn how to ride the little motorcycle that Grandpa bought from Jake, but boy were we wrong! They had a blast. Payge started out riding on the lawn.
Baylee started out on the gravel driveway and crashed pretty hard, but got right up and tried again. Before the day was over she was a pro.

Payge could not wipe the grin off her face, and soon graduated to the gravel driveway too. She is a lot like Jeremy and loves her adrenaline rush. She was the little hot rod of the day zooming at speeds that were a little scary for mom. Next time we go the Grandma & Grandpa's house we'll know to bring the helmets! They both are braver than me. . . motorcycles scare the crap out of me!

Grandma's Easter Egg Hunt

Maggy was excited because the eggs were filled with candy!! She would have been just fine with one egg, but she soon caught on to the concept. . . more eggs, more candy.

After the egg hunt was complete Baylee took charge to make sure everyone had the same amount of treats! It's a blessing that Payge and Maggy were okay with her system. I don't think Baylee cared about the candy, but she was after the money hidden in the eggs! (After all Maggy doesn't know the difference between quarters, and pennies!)

Here is Payge with Grandpa's help finding the last egg hidden up high in the tree!

Baylee was excited to do Grandma's egg hunt because she knows that the payoff is pretty good! Candy, Money, what could be more exciting. . .Oh yeah Grandpa hasn't yet pulled out the little motorcycle he bought for all the grand kids!

Easter at Grandma & Grandpa's

My kids think that Easter time at Grandma Sherry's House is the best! (could be cause they have never spent an Easter weekend at home!) Here we are decorating eggs. They did a pretty good job and suprisingly enough wasn't as messy as I thought it would be!

Daddy Daughter Time

One of the best things about Jeremy being a science teacher was being able to wash my hands of the third grade science fair! Not to mention that Jeremy has quite the impressive collection of experiments and books. Baylee was excited to learn and teach her class about the kinds of things that work best to protect yourself from the UV Rays. Dad also did a good job making sure the poster was perfect and Baylee knew her stuff. Together they make a pair of first rate scientists! I think the best thing was knowing that her Dad helped her finish, and that he came to school to watch her present her project to the third grade. She was also very proud that she didn't just make a volcano like most everyone else!
